Madiba Half-marathon and 10KM

Saturday was an extremely good day for Cape Multisport Eden. We were the third most representative club at the Madiba Half Marathon that was held in George. Only Nedbank and Outeniqua Harriers clipped us to this accolade! A total of 24 members of the Red Army joined the hundreds of runners for the race.

The weather played with and it was a very nice day for running. Ricardo Cornelius showed dominant form in the half marathon and finished in a fantastic time of 1:16:57, truly great running from this youngster. Ricardo came 8th overall and was the 2nd Junior home Watch out for him in the future.

In the women’s 21km Yolande took the honours in a great time of 1:49:32, two athletes battle it out for second and third position,  Margaret tipped the scales in her favour with a time of 1:55:27 with Liezel Snyman coming in at 1:55:52

Rinaldo Grootboom took the honours in the 10km race coming in first for our club in a time of 42:27.

In the women’s 10km race our new member Ruby Holdsworth did very well and came in to take the honours for the ladies in the club with a time of 52:05. Janine Swart ran her first race back as a member in a good time of 54:25.
